Hand-Selected Wisdom From Albert Einstein

He had many gems for quotes, but these are some good ones. Enjoy!

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.  Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself.

Logic will get you from A to Z; imagination will get you everywhere.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be.

Time is an illusion.

Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree, it will live it’s whole life believing that it is stupid.

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales.  If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairytales.

Once you accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing stripes with plaid comes easy.

Hand-Selected Wisdom from JFK

I invite you to explore and absorb the wisdom that radiated off this dear man.  He is one of my dear idols, and extremely bright!

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man’s concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came.

It’s Not so Tragic

It’s not so tragic, these new insights, new truths

Because as we learn new landscapes, our old ones seem preposterous.

So blame it on lack of exposure, for I had put off deciding when “life really started” to

Save my shine for better days, an attempt at storing up my potential, which is odd.

But it’s not so tragic, because if I am here, today, okay with any old ways,

and consciously committed to love, there’s nothing that could possibly

Get in my way.

I’ve been a diamond in the rough, but it’s time to get majorly buffed.

Hand Selected Wisdom from Arthur Miller

Young and handsome Miller

A young and handsome Arthur Miller

My personal favorites:

The job is to ask questions-it always was-and to ask them as inexorably as I can. And to face the absence of precise answers with a certain humility.

The tragic right is a condition of life, a condition in which the human personality is able to flower and realize itself. The wrong is the condition which suppresses man, perverts the flowing out of his love and creative instinct. Tragedy enlightens-and it must, in that it points the heroic finger at the enemy of man’s freedom. The thrust for freedom is the quality in tragedy which exalts. The revolutionary questioning of the stable environment is what terrifies.

Don’t be seduced into thinking that that which does not make a profit is without value.

I do not believe that any work of art can help but be diminished by its adherence at any cost to a political program … and not for any other reason than that there is no political program — any more than there is a theory of tragedy — which can encompass the complexities of real life.

The apple cannot be stuck back on the Tree of Knowledge; once we begin to see, we are doomed and challenged to seek the strength to see more, not less.

The shadow of a cornstalk on the ground is lovely, but it is no denial of its loveliness to see as one looks on it that it is telling the time of day, the position of the earth and the sun, the size of our planet and its shape, and perhaps even the length of its life and ours among the stars.

Man must shape his tools lest they shape him.

Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets.

Simmer in these quotes. Take them to heart. Memorize them? If you want!
